About Campaigning Camp

What: an event that brings together ideas and people to develop tools for great campaigning.

Style: unconference style like the eCampaigning Forum, Social Innovation Camp, Bar Camp, Crisis Camp, etc.

Who: programmers, designers, campaigners, communicators, etc.

Platforms: any. So far we have CiviCRM and Plone

Opportunity: to ensure as many platforms as possible have tools for great campaigning

Cost: Free with lunch and tea break included.

What is a 'sprint'?: a time-boxed development effort focused on starting or improving IT tools. Learn more at: Wikipedia and Plone Sprints

Why?:

  1. Develop tools to boost civic/democratic participation;
  2. Learn from the stengths and weaknesses of the e-campaigning capabilities of each platform
  3. Build a community of people who can contribute to developing e-campaigning tools regardless of platform
